The Drug Quality and Security Act (H.R. 3204) was passed into law by President Obama on November 27th, 2013. The new compounding legislation is a bipartisan, bicameral agreement, intended to increase the quality of compounded medication in the United States. Currently, the FDA is working towards implementation of the new law and developing guidelines.
However, Congressional oversight during this process will be critical to ensure patients continue to have access to compounded medications. To stay current on this situation, please sign up for our mailing list by clicking on the “stay informed” button above.

PCCA advocates for the rights of patients to access the compounded medications they need, along with its 3,500 member compounding pharmacies throughout the U.S. But, we need your help to ensure that new legislation safeguards patient safety and health, while allowing patients access to the best available medications. You can make a difference if you act right now. Legislators needs to hear from those who would be affected by any policy or law that doesn’t reflect the importance of compounding.
